Oh Peter!!

Picture this - "Mother of four has annual outing with local hand-spinners group" ... On Saturday we hired the local hospital bus to drive to Mona (the new Museum of OLD and NEw ART in Hobart).  It is a three hour drive each way, if you don't count stops.  I was the youngest (by way more than a decade) in the group.  We all saw art as never before... Judy had to cover Pearl's eyes on numerous occasions...

BUT best of all I was wearing my NEW BOOTS!!!  They looked fetching with my hand woven miniskirt and they were super comfortable, even with four hours at the museum....SO this is a BIG Thank You for all the trouble to fit my feet and the care you put into your shoes...  I am a very happy customer.

For your information I have had a pair of your shoes that I have worn almost daily for about 8 years I think (can't remember exactly), while the sole is worn down and the material is quite scuffed, the stitching is still perfect and the sole is still attached just fine. 

Amazing! Best lasting shoes I have ever had!

my size 39 Fred 1s arrived in the mail yesterday. i put them on immediately & started stomping around. i've been after this for years - attractive, comfortable, cruelty-free hiking boots!!!

today i took them out for a proper walk. for comfort i give them 10 out of 10. actually, for everything they score 100%. i have already been singing their praises to my friends & family.

To everyone at Vegan Wares,

In July of this year I purchased,from the Collingwood store, a pair of boots made to measure for my
difficult foot size (slightly wider than average and with a full-length orthotic) and I could not be happier with both the finished product and the overall experience of buying from Vegan Wares.In regards to the boots, the comfort exceeds anything I have had previously and I've found myself looking for opportunities to wear them. Quite simply, after so many years of not being able to get shoes to fit me properly I had forgotten what it felt like to have my foot stretch out to its normal size and luxuriate in a shoe instead of being pinched and cramped. 

The boots, Max 7 in a Mid Brown with cream stitching (a great-looking combination), were purchased from the Collingwood store on the 19th of July and posted up to me in Brisbane. The whole process was so trouble-free and the end result so good there's no doubt I'll be adding a second pair in the very near future.

Hi,

I've just found out you have a website and I wanted to take the opportunity to give you some feedback. Unfortunately, I bought my boots 11 years ago and so I don't have proof of purchase. But even if you can't use it on your website, I want you to know how fantastic I think your products are.

I bought a pair of boots that had been made for someone who never picked them up. They are lace up ankle length boots. As I said, I bought them in 1998 and I have to tell you that until January this year, they looked as good as new. They are so fantastic that I wear them constantly through cooler weather. The only reason they are looking a fraction worn now is that I've worn them as my motorbike boots since January and they are starting to scuff where I kick the gears up and down. Even with all that wear, they still polish up well enough to wear in the office. The heel is so sturdy and still shows no sign of wearing down on the outer heel like every other pair of shoes I've ever owned as done within months. The eyelets have never looked like coming loose and the soles are as firmly attacked to the upper as the day I bought them. For sheer quality and durability, they are amazing. What blows me away is that I bought them on sale for $50!!!! Best money I have ever spent. 

So thank you for producing such a fantastic product. Now I know you're online, I'm off to do some cyber-shopping.

Hi.

I am just writing to let you know that I bought a pair of sandals from your Melbourne store in 1999. They are the only pair of sandals I have owned since. The straps are still in good condition with only a little wear. The soles are beginning to struggle now and lose their grip, but I can't believe that they have lasted me over 10 years!
I have worn them pretty much constantly, as I have lived in a hot climate for a lot of that time. I've even worn them in water a lot and it hasn't damaged them at all. I'm still wearing them but want to get a new pair. If I send a photo will it be possible to get them made up the same, as I don't think you are still selling the same style.

Hi Veganwares staff,

I bought a pair of Sam (10) boots, customised to fit my unusually shaped, extra wide feet, about 5 or 6 years ago from your Smith St store. I meant to put a testimonial up after I'd given them a decent wearing in, even though I was immediately impressed by the comfort of the shoe and the wonderful service from your staff. Well, apologies for not doing this sooner but perhaps this testimony is worth more because of the amount of time that has passed!

Five years on (at least), my boots are still going strong and are only just starting to show signs of wear: a little fine fluffing of the micro fibre in a couple of areas - not that you'd notice if you weren't looking very closely. And these are the only things I wear on my feet most of the year round (only in summer do they sit in the cupboard a lot), so I can imagine them lasting at least twice as long on someone else! And they are not done yet by any means. Even the scuffing that
occurs on all shoes is far less with the micro fibre and when it does occur, the paint that Veganwares supplies for covering scuff marks lasts at least 5 times longer than nugget does on leather.

Anyone who finds it hard to believe the testimonials for this amazing micro fibre footwear, trust me: the material is the most incredibly comfortable I have ever experienced and having had problem feet my whole life, I was constantly buying new shoes in search of something that felt, and/or lasted, better than the pair before. That was until I bought my Veganwares boots at the age of 39. I have not bought anything else since, and while the rest of my (very expensive leather) footwear (which I bought shortly before discovering Veganwares) gets worn, at most, a quarter of the time that I wear my boots, one pair has had it and another is on it's way. And I am still amazed at how good my Sam boots still look and feel: even more
incredibly, they don't get anything other than mildly whiffy. For anyone concerned that a non-leather product will smell, put your mind at rest. This amazing fibre does a much better job than leather does in minimising foot odour.

If you think the cost  is prohibitive, don't. It's worth every penny. And if you have hard to fit feet (or have big calves and can't find boots to fit), do yourself a favour and use the custom fit service - it's GOLD - more than worth the extra cost and my feet have never stopped thanking me!

Thank you so much, Veganwares, for a wonderful product. I am a CONVERT! I'll be in soon to be fitted for a couple of pairs of sandals!

Hello! Several years ago (4? 5? more?) I purchased a pair of Vegan Wares shoes from a little vegan shoe shop in San Francisco. They were stylish and comfortable (remarkably so for contoured little feminine things!), and have proven to be very durable. That shop is gone now and I no longer live in San Francisco, so I ended up here on your website,
hoping I'd recognize my shoes just by matching them to all of the photos. Looks like they are the nancy variety. After several years of faithful service, I think it's about time to replace them. I'll be re-ordering shortly. I love those shoes!

Hello there.  A few years back I purchased some single buckle square toe dress shoes from your company and wanted to see about getting a new pair.  They have and still are holding up and its been well over 4 years. I wear them at least 3 times a week also. They are great quality might I add.  So here is the problem, I do not recall the name of the shoe just know that it is a Vegan Wares shoe.  I no longer see it on your site for sale. My Lillian 2 shoes arrived yesterday.  They're exactly what I wanted: pretty, durable, feminine summer shoes with flat soles and ankle straps to keep them from flying off my feet when I run for the train.  I finally have something to wear with skirts!

I also own a pair of your Bec 3 "Mary Janes", some Office Walkers, and the Long Samette zip-up boots.  I've been buying a pair or two of your shoes via the internet every couple years for a while now.  The walking shoes are a bit scuffed - I wore them almost daily for two years - but otherwise, all of the shoes are still like new.

I know a lot of vegetarians who buy cheap shoes from Payless and not-so-cheap shoes from some of the other online vegan stores.  I always recommend you to them.  One pair of long-lasting, breathable, classic shoes is worth a zillion pairs of cheap, trendy footwear.

You guys do a wonderful job.  I couldn't be happier.

Just a note to say that the dog collar, I ordered from you, arrived today. From ordering to recieving my goods, only took 10 days (very fast delivery, from Australia).
Also, the collar is better made than the belts I've had from 'Vegetarian Shoes', here in England, as they line their's with PVC (not very durable), whereas this dog collar is completely PU (much stronger wearing).

I've received the boots [military boots, see Make-to Order page]  They look great ! Thanks for your fine workmanship.  I like the look and they feel quite comfortable, and they seem to bear enough resemblance to the boots the Army authorizes that I think they'll pass muster.

I'll let you know how they wear, particularly the canvas.  Depending on how things go, I may even order a second pair !  Let me know if you stumble across any materials that might be of interest for a future boot (eg the khaki nylon, etc).

My wife, Elaine, first purchased a pair of your shoes (Audrey style, size 8.5 elite) on 13/6/99.  More than 6.5 years later, they are in perfect condition, despite the fact that she wears them to work for 6 months of the year.  Elaine also bought me a wallet so long ago I can't remember when, but must be over four years.  Leather wallets used to last me about two years, yours is still in perfect condition.

Elaine is currently procrastinating about buying a pair of elastic sided boots, as she's very tight with her hard earned readies.  Her current gardening boots are plastic, uncomfortable and split because of her wide feet, totally unbreathable, not worn often and about two years old.  Yet she is still considering buying another pair to 'save' $150.  So I'm just ordering the Vegan Wares Trent [style] as a surprise because I love her, to stop her wasting $70 on crap and so I don't have to listen to her complain about sub-standard boots for two years until she throws them away.  I'm looking forward to 10 year plus of blissful gardening contentment.  Just wish you made handbags (for her, not me!).

Unlike Elaine, I'm not a vegan.  I'm only vegetarian for reasons of convenience, taste and health, although I'm opposed to some farming practices.  Also unlike Elaine, I am male and have a normal width foot which means I can buy well fitting shoes easily and cheaply.  But I've just decided that in future all my footware (excluding running shoes) will be from Vegan Wares.  If they last longer, look better, feel nicer, are cheaper in the long run and don't require me to go shopping, then the only reason I can see to buy leather is if you get a perverse sense of satisfaction out of wearing the skin of dead animals.
