people who have allergic reactions to leather, rubber or other ingredients
frequently used in footwear, buying shoes can be a really frustrating and
disappointing experience. However, with the service offered by Vegan
Wares you can have high quality boots, shoes and sandals which look and
feel great and don't irritate your skin. We specialize in making
personalized footwear and can vary our production process to avoid using
materials that irritate your skin.
HOW WE CAN HELP YOU Once you tell us what you're allergic to we can advise which of our products will suit you. If there are any doubts, as there often are, we can send you samples of materials for sensitivity testing. Subject to advice from your specialist, you can wear these materials against your skin to determine if you will react to them. In most cases we can identify a suite of materials and glues that are unlikely to irritate your skin, and then we can make up your choice of shoes. As a general rule: ** If you are allergic to tanning agents in leather (including chromium salts) : all our products will be suitable for you as none of them contain leather ** If you are allergic to leather dyes: most of our off-the-shelf products will be fine, but to be sure we can send you samples of materials for sensitivity testing ** If you are allergic to rubber and / or rubber based glues: most of our style are available to you, though we will probably have to make you a special pair without any rubber based glues (in this case we use polyurethane cements) ** If you are allergic to other substances: we'll probably be able to help, but that will be determined by sensitivity testing.
